The Weidel Family is a Southern Gospel trio based in Fort Worth, Texas. This is a family group, so needless to say, the harmony is tight and the blend is smooth. They have the full support of their home church and pastor as they travel. The Family is a ministry of the Heritage Baptist Church of Arlington, Texas. Doctor George Newcomb is their pastor. Alton Weidel is the dad. He has been in Southern Gospel Music for 35 years. he attended Baptist Bible College in Springfield, Missouri and sang with several quartets while there. Although a first tenor, he has adapted well to singing led and baritone with the family. He is an ordained minister of the Gospel and a songwriter as well. The group has recorded and sings a number of his songs. He also plays the bass guitar and drives the van. Alton serves as road manager for the group. When not singing Alton works for Prestige Ford in Garland, Texas as the Customer Relations Manager in the Service Department.
Brenda Weidel is the mom. She began singing Southern Gospel Music after she married Alton. They met at Bible College. Brenda is an accomplished pianist and plays classical as well as Southern Gospel style music. She carries the low part on most group arrangements but does sing an occasional lead. She is the mother of four and also has four grandchildren. She loves arts and crafts can be found in the back of the van on all trips working on some kind of project. She takes care of the product table and keeps Alton as straight as she can. She is retired from the Mansfield Independence School District and is now a full-time homemaker. et to know this special lady while she is at your church.
Jana Weidel is the daughter. She has been singing literally all of her life. Jana went to church before she ever went home from the hospital after being born. Mom got out of the hospital on Sunday morning and came right to the church from the hospital. Jana sings the high part and lead and does most of the group's musical arrangements. She is engaged to Brett Monroe and is looking forward to a September 7th wedding. For now, she lives at home with mom and dad. She is enrolled at Tarrant County College. She also serves as church secretary for Pastor Newcomb at our home church, Heritage Baptist Church in Arlington, Texas. Needless to say, this is one busy young lady. She possesses a very powerful voice and will simply amaze you with her vocal prowess.
The Family's mission as a Gospel music ministry is to be a blessing as they travel and sing. They are always excited about meeting new people and making new friends. They will be a great addition to any church service or concert they are a part of.
